Printable version                                                                                  Instructions for submitting exhibit materials

Up to two boards 16x20” in size per participant may be included in the exhibit.  Being & Loving ME encourages participants to include a minimum of one photo, drawing or other visual image with at least one written piece, note, letter or poem.  If mounting the materials yourself, use photo-safe adhesives to mount your pieces on black acid-free foam core board, leaving a clear margin around the edge, preferably no more than 1" wide.  Be sure to use adhesives that will not distort or damage your images when mounting them.  We recommend you do not use liquid glues.  Use a font size of 22 or larger so your text can be easily read.  Contact beingandlovingme@hotmail.com for assistance. 

Exhibit materials submitted to BALM will not be returned, so be sure to keep a copy of all materials being submitted.

FOR PREMOUNTED MATERIALS:

·        On the back of each board, put your preferred full name in the upper left corner. 

·        On this form, write out the desired title for each board, making sure you note which title goes with which board.     

·        To mail your materials, sandwich your board(s) between cardboard and wrap with bubble-wrap or foam sheets.  Place the wrapped boards in a box or padded envelope and mail to the address below. 

·        Be sure to keep all negatives, as your photos will not be returned.  We suggest you have your photos and artwork scanned and/or copied before submitting them to the exhibit.

FOR MATERIALS TO BE MOUNTED BY BEING AND LOVING ME:

Digital Materials (such as MS Word or Power Point documents or digital photos):

·        Submit your digital files on a CD along with a signed entry form.  All digital files must be Microsoft compatible and/or use a generic file type, such as .txt or .jpg that any software package can open.

·        Include your last name and board number in the file name (for example smith1.jpg or jones2.doc). Indicate which pieces go on which of the two boards by numbering them with “A” or “B”, such as smith1_A.jpg.

·        On this form, write out the title for each board, making sure you note which title goes with which board.

·        Put the CD in a CD case.  Put the CD case and your entry form in a padded envelope and mail to the address below. 

·        Be sure to keep a copy of all digital files submitted.

Preprinted Materials (such as photos or handwriting letters):

·        On the back of each piece, put your preferred full name in the lower right corner.  Be sure to use a pen that will not bleed through and avoid using excessive pressure that might poke or show through the other side.  Indicate which pieces go on which of the two boards by lettering them with “A” or “B”, such as photo 1A goes with writing 1A.

·        On this form, write out the desired title for each board, making sure you note which title go with which board.   

·        To mail your materials, sandwich your materials between cardboard and wrap with bubble-wrap or foam sheets.  Place the wrapped pieces in a box or padded envelope and mail to the address below.
